After several rounds of fighting through misfortunes, at Donington Park the Red Bull Honda team finally managed to turn a corner. Injuries to Leon Camier (Red Bull Honda World Superbike Team), Jake Gagne (Red Bull Honda World Superbike Team), and even replacement rider Jason O’Halloran (Red Bull Honda World Superbike Team) had marred the previous European rounds, but after a successful UK Round and with both main riders fit and focused, the Honda riders will be looking to make up lost ground at Brno.

Before his crash at the Aragon Round, Leon Camier was eighth in the championship standings, crossing the line no lower than seventh in the opening four races. It had been his best start to a MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship season, and whilst Camier was cautious in his return to competition two weeks ago, he still managed another two top-ten finishes. Remaining physical limitations aside, the British rider has clearly adapted well to the CBR1000RR, and should keep closing the gap with the front riders.

Camier wasn’t able to test the Moravian track a few weeks back, so the first practice sessions will be crucial: “Missing the recent test here means we're a little bit behind the other teams in terms of having a base setting heading into the weekend, but the bike has come along well recently and hopefully can get it working well from the first session on Friday”.

After a demanding Donington round, the Brit is ready to take a further step in his return to form: “My recovery is going well, it's the type of injury that isn't a quick fix so I'm not 100%, but it's better than it was at Donington so things are improving there step by step”.

His teammate Jake Gagne will be one of the few riders at Brno to have won at the Czech track, back in his Red Bull Rookies days. Gagne was back in the points at Donington, and will be eager to impress before heading back to his home country for Round 9, at Laguna Seca.

“I’ve always loved the Brno circuit, it's so fast and flowing”, says the young American. “We’ve made some great progress the last few weekends with my riding and bike setup so I expect the progress to continue thanks to the great crew that I have with me. I have a feeling that the Honda will get along well with the flowing style of Brno so I’m ready to get to work”.
